Engaging Vulnerability (EV) is a multidisciplinary research program funded for ten years (2015-2025) by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) with support from the Vice-Chancellor’s strategic funds and the Faculty of Arts at Uppsala University. The goal of the program is to conduct empirical research and develop theoretical perspectives that engage vulnerability as a productive resource rather than as a lack or privation. Currently, research within the program is being carried out in the disciplines of anthropology, comparative literature, design studies, ethnology, media and communication, musicology, philosophy, and rhetoric.
The program is now seeking 2-4 researchers, 100%, from September 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019. Successful applicants are expected to use their residency in the program to write a research project application that will be submitted to the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) and/or the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation (Riksbankens Jubileumfond) for their spring term 2019 call for proposals.
The closing date for applications is January 3, 2018.
